A few days ago, professor Terence Tao (Yes, he is the giant I mentioned the other day.) gave a wonderful tutorial at FOCS 2007. The title of his talk is "Structure and randomness in combinatorics." Let me attach his lecture notes and the slides for your reference. I hope this tutorial will open your mind in using the decomposition techniques.

Kuan-Yu, could you please go thru this tutorial and present it to us on November 20, 2007? I understand it's kind of a rush to read such tough materials in three weeks, but if you can, that would help a lot. Should you choose to present the paper that you're currently reading, that would be fine, too.
