Abstract:

Matching and tracking of corresponding keypoints in a video is an important step in many applications, such as motion analysis, 3D reconstruction, etc. While many tracking algorithms rely on low-level features, keypoint descriptors such as SIFT and SURF provide more information that can better distinguish different keypoints and match corresponding ones. However, these keypoint descriptors are not specific enough to provide reliable tracking of coronary arteries in angiongram sequence because the images of coronary arteries can shape significantly over a cardiac cycle.

This talk presents a method of tracking coronary arteries by extracting high-level structural information of blood vessel junctions.

Using high-level information, the method can predict possible locations of junctions when they are not detected in some video frames, thus making the method more robust against miss-detection and noise.
