In this talk, we will explore the journey of developing industry-grade AI systems and deploying them in real-world settings to save patients’ lives.
Dr. Lu will also share his personal journey transitioning from a scientist to an entrepreneur, highlighting the challenges and opportunities encountered in building a cutting-edge AI startup. Attendees will gain insights into the technical, operational, and entrepreneurial aspects of translating AI innovations from the lab to clinical practice and the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on accelerating breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
Bio:
Dr. Jen-Tang Lu (呂任棠), founder and CEO of Vysioneer, leads the innovation at the intersection of AI and medicine. His company is on a mission to bring cancer therapies to patients sooner. VBrain, Vysioneer’s flagship product, is the first FDA-approved AI tumor auto-contouring solution, offering groundbreaking technology that enhances precision in cancer care and has already impacted thousands of patient lives.
Before founding Vysioneer, Dr. Lu served as a machine learning scientist at the Mass General Brigham’s AI center, where he led the development and deployment of large-scale, deep learning-based systems for automated disease diagnosis. Dr. Lu received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and his BS in Physics from National Taiwan University.
