The emergence of blockchain technology makes self-sovereign finance become possible, and empowers individuals to achieve freedom from the traditional banking system. But the complexity of key management prevents the real decentralization to be realized and widely adopted. In addition, cryptocurrencies are notorious for their vulnerability to theft from exchanges. Therefore, securing digital assets is becoming an important topic that is worthy of more public attention. Threshold signature scheme, which leverages secure multiparty computation (MPC) to generate signatures without revealing the private key greatly improves security. In this talk, I will show a novel wallet design by separating control and alleviating the user’s burden of safekeeping private keys. I will also discuss its potential applications.
Chang-Wu Chen is a Chief Scientist at AMIS, and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at National Chengchi University. He received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Communication Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan. Prior to joining AMIS, he worked for Ethereum Research from 2017 to 2018. His research interests include Wireless networks, Network Security, Vehicular Networking and Blockchain.
