Title: Natural Speech Interface: the Future of Human-Machine Communication Interface.
Date: 2017-12-29  03:30 pm-04:30pm
Location: R103, CSIE
Speaker: Ching-Feng Yeh, Mobvoi AI Lab
Hosted by: Prof. Yung-Yu Chuang

Natural speech has long been the most common and intuitive way for human-human communication. In recent years, with the advancement of deep learning technologies, the state-of-the-art automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language processing (NLP)

performances have been significantly enhanced, making the natural speech interface feasible and satisfactory for human-machine communication. Like most AI applications, new challenges emerges as the development of the natural speech interface evolves rapidly. This presentation focuses on the framework of natural speech interface and the many challenges we are facing.

葉青峰 (Ching-Feng Yeh) received his Ph.D. degree from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan, in 2015. He currently serves as a machine learning research scientist at Mobvoi AI Lab, United States. His research focuses on automatic speech recognition, small-footprint keyword spotting, deep learning and pattern classification.
