Bio

I am an assistant professor at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering in National Taiwan University. I finished my Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Michigan under the supervision of Jason Flinn in October 2008. After obtaining my Ph.D, I worked at NEC Labs America for almost two years.

News

I will be serving on the TPC of APSys 2013. APSys takes short papers (6 or fewer pages) and is a great venue for authors to get early feeback for their work. Please see CFP here (txt) and here (pdf).

I will be serving on the TPC of ICAC 2013. Please consider submitting to the conference.

Recruiting

I am looking for strong and motivated graduate (masters and Ph.D) students to join my lab. The qualites I am looking for in students who (1) are interested in tackling research problems (2) enjoy hands-on system building and experimentation, (3) have good programming and communication skills.

I also work closely with undergraduate students in research projects. I am looking for undergraduate students who have strong motivation and good programming skills.

I am currently looking at system management issues in a large-scale virtualized cluster and helping users utilize cloud resources. I am also interested in the general area of mobile computing, such as how to help user debug performance problems on a smart phone and how to leverage cloud to enable smart phones to run more interesting applications.

If you are interested, please contact me to schedule an appointment.
