Biography
Ching-Chi Hsu(許清琦) received the B.S. degree in physics from National Tsin Hwa University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1971 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, in 1975 and 1982, respectively.
In 1977, he joined the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University, and became an Associate Professor in 1982. From 1984 to 1985, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Computer Science Department, Stanford University, Stanford, CA. From 1996 to 2000, he was the Chairman of the Department of CSIE. From 2002 to 2003, he was the president of Kainan University. From 2004, he is the Vice President of Institute For Information Industry till now. His research interests include intelligent systems, distributed processing of data and knowledge, constraint programming, and nature-derived genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, and neural networks.
