Words to incoming students:
First of all, you are all welcomed to come talk to me. I am in my office
(CSIE room 531) pretty much all the time. To make sure you can catch me,
it's probably best to e-mail me first(mku@csie.ntu.edu.tw).
The training I will offer to my student is one with a proper mix of academic
and industry experiences. All my researches are practical application-oriented.
My students will have chances to work on various aspects of SoC design
flow, from top-level system design, hardware architecture, IC front-end
design to chip implementation and verification.
I expect my students to be self-motivated and willing to work reasonably
hard. I have high hopes for all of you.
About me:
Mong-Kai Ku (ÅU©s·_) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 12, 1967. He
received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan
University, Tapei, Taiwan, in 1989. He received the M.S. and Ph.D degrees
in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles,
in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He joined Broadcom Corporation in 1993,
where he was involved in many high speed communication IC design projects,
with a focus in the forward-error-correction system design. Since February
2003, he has been with National Taiwan University, where he is currently
