Multimedia Applications

Overview

We investigate better ways for users to utilize multimedia data, including better methods for presenting photos in a spatial order, making slideshows with transitionis of a 3D navigation style, and displaying photo and music with synchronized emotions. We have proposed a method to organize the user's photos according to their spatial order. In addition, transitions between photos are modelled with approximate 3D structures to give viewers a flying-through photo browsing experience. The system was published in our ACM Multimedia 2008 paper, photo navigator. We have also proposed a method for emotion-based music visualization which presents music with photos having similar emotion types to enhance the viewer's music listening experience.
