  for contributions to support vector machine algorithms and software.
• Best research paper award, KDD 2010 (with students Hsiang-Fu Yu, Cho-Jui Hsieh, and Kai-Wei Chang).
  
• Member of the NTU team to win the first prize of KDD cup 2010 (overall and student tracks) and the 3rd place of KDD cup 2009 (extended track).
