5 斷假容易, 斷真難 "之概念與資訊安全的關係"
Making fake software is easy; making real software is hard.
1/13 下午 2 點交: e-mail 和 turn it in during class.

Yippee! 3 pages in 2 hours. Not as comprehensive, but oh well, here it is.

6 Not all classes and/or finals are known right now. Started studying finals. Don't know all the test dates so start early, otherwise you might get ambushed.

1/10:
10 a.m. Discrete Mathematics: Goal is 75%; aim for 95%. Know the theorems and applications. Any proofs not written in notes, memorize. Don't think. Memorize. The brain can memorize so much and forget so quickly. What a neat tool it is.
2:30 p.m. Database: Goal is 77%; aim for 90%. Know the material really well, especially the "what ifs." Study session on Friday, starting at 1 p.m. on the 7th. (Thanks Gag for helping me study!) Worst-case scenario: if homework grade is 45, aim for 87 on finals. Best-case scenario: if homework grade is 50, aim for 67 on finals. Desired grade is satisfied, if test score = x, where 67 <= x <= 87. Passed, except overall score is inconclusive and probably depressing. I want a high score!!!! Why didn't brain work afterwards?

Gag's voice can be found here, teaching some Database chapters:

1/12:
Operating Systems: Goal is 92%; aim for 100%. Memorize and know the materials. Check previous tests if they're available. Only had two days to study for the last midterm; this time, you have more time! 40% is a passing with raw score. Why did studies commence one day before test? Well, the two prior tests were pretty heavy. Thanks Max for taking me through a crash course on two chapters within an hour; definitely helped!

2 Finish the summary/synopsis before proceeding further. Get a general plan of where story should be headed. (Why do many possible events seem so cliché?) Putting introduction of Stinky into Chapter 4 doesn't seem effective, since an illusion of passage of time is required for Chapter 1. Talk about foreboding syndicate in Chapter 3. Get ideas from real life. Make dialogue less corny if possible.

Wrote the support for the basis of the story. Maybe spread it around for reactions. Type it onto computer when you have free time.

Chapters written thus far: 0, 1, 2, 3. Make Chapter 1 more complete. Leave that specific part intentionally foggy, so that story can develop somewhat in later chapters.

Ideas listed in notebook. Make some more ideas. Start writing actual content within book and stop writing so much comments on Xanga. Stop slacking off you bum!

3 Got my OptionsXpress account. Read up on financing before looking at possible investments. New possible area of investment: relatively important future product with scant information on the web. So far, read up on business structures; political, business, and consumer viewpoints; patent laws.  Lost quite a bit of faith in patent laws due to business practice and trivial ideas patentable. Patent process needs procedural revamping. Now how do you start a business? Keep business idea inside head and practice as a vendor on transaction site such as eBay if possible.

General lessons learned:
~Stock prices will not rise forever, no matter how hot a stock is.
~Analysts often sway the public.
~Slope stuff; calculus is actually somewhat useful here.
~One market can influence another; one company's performance can influence another's value; certain types of seemingly unrelated news can have adverse effects on specific sectors.
~Reliable news in lesser known places can sometimes give earlier forecasts to stock prices.
~Know the sector before jumping in.

What do I need to do over here?

12/22: Investing in a stock. Hoping to get in at $7.50, so I can get 453 shares. The board members have a lot of past experience even though they are the smaller company. Still hasn't gone through due to Christmas break... Why does everything stop during Christmas?

Update: Bought stocks at $7.375. At $7.41, I break even. Stock tumbled: sell or long-term wait? Hopefully sell at $11 to reach $5000 goal. Jia yo CEO Mel!

4 Is it possible to use a pointer to link these comments to the Task or Task Type in order to give the appearance of simplicity and elegance? In terms of Database, Priority is a foreign key for About and listing the numbers for About seems redundant. Possibly a unique key for the tuples listed?

Implemented the bookmark function to link to tasks more quickly.

2 Canon EOS 20D? Canon S500 for now. Try it out and then venture to other aspects.

Update: Didn't sell at the designated shop. The seller says there is great difficulty in getting this camera in stock.
Update: Canon S40.

Note: Some tasks are continual or procedural and completion cannot be asserted with a number-based system or check.
