Welcome !
Hello, this is Jie-Zhi Cheng. My chinese name: 鄭 介 誌. I was born in Taichung city, Taiwan (R.O.C), 1980. I received my Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) from National Taiwan University (NTU), 2002. After taking the military service, I worked for Dr. Chung-Ming Chen and earned my Master degree from Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME), NTU. From 2007 to 2009, I did two year short-term research in USA (1 year internship at Siemens Corporate Research, Princeton, NJ and 1 year at IDEA group, Biomedical Research Imaging Center, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill). Now, I come back to National Taiwan University for Ph.D. degree with my most admirable mentor, Dr. Chung-Ming Chen. I am expecting to obtain Ph.D. degree no later than 2012.
My research interests include the fields of medical image analysis, computer vision, modeling the movement or motion of objects, and machine learning. I am also quite interested in the mechanism of biological vision, ranging from low to high level vision, and bottom-up/top-down pathway. In terms of methodology, I am particularly interested in using statistical/probabilistic approaches to attack these problems. Recently, I'd expanded my interest toward parallel and cooperative computing theory. My current research indices are computer-aided diagnosis, cancer image analysis, image segmentation, and vessel tracking.
