Welcome !
Hello, this is Jie-Zhi Cheng. I was born in Taichung city, Taiwan (R.O.C), 1980. I received my Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) from National Taiwan University (NTU), 2002. After taking the military service, I worked for Dr. Chung-Ming Chen and earned my Master degree at Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME), NTU. Now I'm working at IDEA group, Biomedical Research Imaging Center, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Before that, I did 11 months internship at Siemens Corporate Research.
My research interests include the fields of medical image analysis, computer vision, modeling the movement or motion of objects, and machine learning. I am also quite insterested in the mechanism of biological vision, ranging from low to high level vision, and bottom-up/top-down pathway. In terms of methedology, I am particularly interested in using statistical/probabilistic approaches to attack these problems. During the years at BME, NTU, my reasearch experience was mainly focusing on medical image analysis, especially on ultrasound breast imaging. I was involved in two ultrasound breast cancer related projects with Dr. Chung-Ming Chen. In that period, I helped Dr. Chung-Ming Chen to win a grant of National Sicence Council, Taiwan, and coauthored serveal journal/conference articles, mainly with Dr. Chung-Ming Chen and Dr. Yi-Hong Chou. We also issued one Taiwanese patent, which is currently pending. More details about my publication, please refer to the Publication page.
