The great and universally powerful Juraian tree. Her past is a complete mystery considering she is the zero-generation of all Juraian trees, which means she is extremely old by age but not by physical form. She powers the most powerful space ship in the universe also called Tsunami. No doubt, she is one of the most mysterious, powerful, and complex beings in the Tenchi universe. Tsunami is one of the Three Goddesses, with the other two being Wasyu and Tokimi. Since she is a goddess, she is one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Her ship, Tsunami, is able to generate ten Light Hawk Wings (a jaw-dropping powerful offensive and defensive weapon) as oppose to Tenchi's three Light Hawk Wings. She can destroy a galaxy without breaking a drop of sweat. As the oldest tree of Jurai, she gave "birth" to other Royal Juraian trees, including Aeka's Ryu-Oh and Yosho's Funaho. Juraian Royal Family needs their trees to sustain their 2000 year plus longevity, and since Tsunami is the mother of all trees, she fuels her offspring with Life Water to help sustain Juraian Royal Family's longevity. She has very close ties with Sasami in that they are assimilated. 700 years ago, Kagato empowered and used Ryoko to infiltrate the planet Jurai to capture Tsunami and to use it to increase his ship's (the Soja) power. As Ryoko was destroying Jurai, Sasami was in the Royal Juraian tree nursery wandering around playfully from tree to tree. As she crossed one of the elevated platform, a ship crashed into the upper deck of the nursery, knocking Sasami off. She then fell deep below the nursery where Tsunami is kept and was almost killed. As Sasami lay dying, her blood flowed and reached the Life Water of Tsunami. There, Sasami dematerialized and assimilated with Tsunami's tree form. Then Tsunami appeared in human form for the first time, hence, saving Sasami's life. Since Tsunami is much older than Sasami, her physical form is mature. In a way, Tsunami's physical form is Sasami's future physical form. Although, they "have separate minds right now, but when the time comes", they will join and become one. At that time, you can call her Sasami or Tsunami, but their individual memories will be retained. With the assimilation with Sasami, when you look at Sasami's reflection, you will see Tsunami and not Sasami. Besides the assimilation with Sasami, I believe Tsunami and Tenchi are linked in some way. Tsunami also helped saved the Masaki family by helping Tenchi realize his true power, the ability to generate the Light Hawk Wings without the need of an external power source, which destroyed Kagato and the Soja. Even though she is the most powerful tree, ship, and a goddess, her personality is of highest etiquette. Her formality surpasses even Aeka's; her concern for others is greater than Tenchi's; and her beauty surpasses everyone!
