ACID TENCHI'S PROFILE

First-class Detective of the Galaxy Police. She is intelligent, ambitious, fearless, calm, and a true leader. Kiyone only appeared in the TV series Tenchi Universe and Shin Tenchi Muyo! She also appeared the Mihoshi Special OVA and all three movies. Not much is known about her origins or background. What is known is that she is very competent in her work.

Kiyone has the unfortunate luck to be partnered with Mihoshi. Kiyone dreams of becoming one of the best detectives in the Galaxy Police force, but her partner "anchors" her from being the best. Worse yet, Kiyone, more or less, has to baby sit her partner.

Kiyone is always concentrating on her work. There is rarely a time where she does something that is not related to the Galaxy Police. She is diligent as ever. Needless to say, Kiyone is your typical Sherlock Holmes: Scrutinizes evidence, calculating needed plans, calm in the heat of battle, and have no room for blunders. She is one of the more mature persons in the Masaki family.

She despises the fact that she has to be partnered with Mihoshi. Whatever Kiyone do, Mihoshi will indirectly undo. However, she does care for her partner even though her caring emotions for Mihoshi are rarely seen. Unlike other Masaki family members who possess non-humanly powers, she only relies on her intelligence and diligence to solve a case or problem. She does rely on her laser pistol and control cube, but unlike Mihoshi who is clueless with her control cube, Kiyone does know how to utilize it. Isn't she cool? ^_^

She is one of the clam and intelligent person in the Masaki family, besides Wasyu and Yosho. I like to think of her more or less the parent, besides Yosho and Nobuyuki. For example, while Mihoshi is having her snack when there are better business to attend to, Kiyone usually try to locate Mihoshi as if she was lost or out playing with friends.

Her relationship with the others are serene because she understands their personalities. She cares deeply for Tenchi, but does not love him in the way Ryoko and Aeka does. Therefore, she gets along with them perfectly.




AUBREY'S PROFILE

Kiyone is a policewoman in the employ of the Galaxy Police (GP for short); she carries the rank of a 1st-class detective and is currently the acting partner to Mihoshi, who is also a 1st-class GP officer.

We were introduced to Kiyone in the Mihoshi Special of the OVA series. Although this was her first and only appearance in mainstream TM!, Kiyone is recasted as one of the central characters in the TV series and its movie successor. In all three cases, she strikes the viewers as a person who knows and goes for what she wants; Kiyone is a typical career woman, which might also explain why she is the only girl who doesn't show any outward affection towards Tenchi.

When Mihoshi isn't around, Kiyone is capable of displaying an attractive and seemless beautiful face. She has a set of beautiful dark green hair which she prefers to wear in a sissor-cut style (half in the front, half in the back); note the cool red headband that she is rarely seen without. She is also the owner of a pair of lovely emerald-green eyes which sparkle with anticipation whenever she goes into action and glitter with tears whenever she is around Mihoshi. Amongst the main cast, Kiyone stands the tallest at 5 feet 8.

Kiyone is most commonly seen dressed in her GP uniform, which is armed to the teeth with traditional GP weaponry and gadgets. Aside from the normal GP laser pistol, we have seen Kiyone using a combat yoyo, a cube, and one of her earrings (calling for her ship Yagami). She probably also has a pen that she doesn't use too often, since she knows every single GP regulation by heart.

Kiyone is regarded by many as the most normal member of the Tenchi gang, and for obvious reasons. She can't disappear out of thin air, isn't a princess from the most powerful empire in the universe, doesn't have a hidden "second" personality, ain't lucky enough to win the jackpot lottery even if her grandma's life depended on it, and she certainly doesn't possess the IQ of a certain well-known pink-haired mad scientist...

What Kiyone does have, however, is a personality we can all relate to. After all, she is a normal human being leading normal everyday life. Just like the rest of us, Kiyone-san has her share of problems. Aside from having to tangle with Mihoshi on or off the job on a daily basis, she also has to deal with wicked criminals, a corrupt superior, haughty classmates from the past, rude fast-food customers, old lady whose spaceship has broken down in the Solar System and is in need of repairs, and of course, anything that the Tenchi gang can bring along -- Kain for instance.

OK, maybe not so much like us after all... ^_^;;;

In spite of it all, Kiyone cherishes her job deeply and works hard to achieve even higher status in GP.

Kiyone-san, you are a model for us all.

Kiyone's life took a drastic turn when she met Mihoshi at the GP Academy -- few say for the better, many say for the worse. From Kiyone's point-of-view, it's probably a little bit of both.

Well, it sounded like a good idea at the time... Getting paired to Mihoshi, the grandchild of the GP Chief of Staff, was a post of honor she could not refuse. Certainly, Kiyone's already heard of Mihoshi's legendary feat at bumbling acts by then, but the ambitious girl was certain that there was nothing in this universe she couldn't handle. After all, she was the top graduate of her class and the shining star of the Academy. Just how bad could Mihoshi possibly be anyway?

Well, perhaps just a tad bit more fun then she had first anticipated... ^_-

Regardless, Kiyone and Mihoshi make a perfect pair, in and/or out of their GP uniforms. Mihoshi's incredible luck, keen observational skills complemented with Kiyone's clear logical thinking, levelheaded attitude, plus with the added bonus of their sheer combat skills, make them the archnemisis of any crooks on the run.


The Kiyone Karaoke Club

Whenever Kiyone feel depressed, she and Mihoshi head down to the local karaoke club to vent their everyday life pressure.

If you feel like to sing along, come on down to The Kiyone Karaoke Club and join the fun! Even if you don't like karaoke all that much, come anyway because Kiyone-san needs all the non-Mihoshi company she can get! ^_-
