Achika is the mother of Tenchi and daughter of Yosho. She appeared only in the movie, Tenchi Muyo! in Love!, where the movie centered around and solved some mysteries about Tenchi's mother. She also appeared in the OAVs as flash backs. Achika passed away when Tenchi was six years old, but Tenchi thinks of his mother often. When Achika died, Tenchi was deeply hurt. In the OAV, we know very little of Achika other than Tenchi loves and thinks of her often. Tenchi still has Achika's belongings like his mother's Kimono, which Tenchi cherishes very much. When Ryoko wore the Kimono to impress Tenchi, which she did for a brief moment, it reminded him very much of his mother. Then Ryoko accidentally tore one of the Kimono's sleeve. After one of the sleeve was torn, she tore the other one to make a match. Tenchi was upset to say the least and said, "I hate you!!" A sentence Tenchi never said before. In the movie, Tenchi Muyo! in Love!, we got a chance to see Achika during her young and fruitful age, high school. Like the OAV hinted, Achika is indeed a kind and gentle soul. Since she is a descendent of Yosho, she also possess Juraian powers. She can use the Tenchiken and magnify its power, something Tenchi can not do. The cause of her death is up to question. Many fans believe she died from expending too much of her Juraian energy when battling the powerful criminal, Kain. Speculation has it that because she expended too much energy defeating Kain, it shortened her life. Also, the former Emperor of Jurai died shortly after putting Kain in subspace for the same reasons that took Achika's life. This is also Tenchi's speculation. Luckily, her powers passed on to Tenchi. She and Nobuyoki met during high school. Disregarding the universal tradition, she pursued Nobuyoki. Not much else is known about Achika, except with the information from the movie. Hopefully, AIC/Pioneer LDC will make another OAV that will include more information about Achika. "Time is short, but Nobuyoki and I will live our lives to the fullest I swear.
